Preflop to river

A blueprint is not a preflop chart with postflop added later. In every iteration, the preflop engine plays each hand of the game to the end: the preflop actions, then a flop, turn and river, with postflop decisions for everyone still in the hand. A preflop raise is worth what the postflop strategy after it is worth, so preflop ranges and postflop play shape each other during training.

  • Multi-way pots are included. If three players see a flop in the tree, the blueprint has a three-way postflop strategy for it.
  • The postflop tree affects the preflop strategy. In one lab tree (3-max, 50bb), a richer postflop tree changed the SB's limp frequency by 6.5 points, far more than solving 2.5 times longer.
  • Postflop precision is limited by the abstraction. The selected abstraction level affects the blueprint's postflop detail. Re-solving a postflop node refines that spot, but does not recalculate the entire preflop-to-river game.
