Installation & activation
System requirements
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10/11, 64-bit | Windows 11, 64-bit |
| CPU | 4 cores with AVX2 (Intel 4th gen / AMD Zen or newer) | 8+ cores |
| RAM | 16 GB | 32–64 GB for full-range re-solves on three streets and for training blueprints |
| Disk | 2 GB for the app; at least 50 GB free on the selected drive for preflop training | SSD with more free space if you keep multiple runs or blueprints |
Important
AVX2 is required. The engine checks for it at start and exits with "AVX2 required" on a CPU without it. There is no macOS build yet.
Install
- Sign in on pulsegto.com and open the Dashboard. With a paid Engine licence or an eligible 7-day trial, the Desktop engine section shows Download for Windows.
- Run the downloaded
PulseGTO-Setup-<version>.exe. It installs for your Windows user only and does not need administrator rights. The app goes to%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PulseGTO. - The installer adds Start Menu shortcuts, including PulseGTO Cloud for the website. You can choose whether to create a desktop shortcut. On the final screen, Launch PulseGTO lets you start the app immediately.
Activate
- Start PulseGTO. The first screen asks for an activation code.
- On the Dashboard, click Get activation code. The code looks like
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It works once and expires after 15 minutes. - Enter the code in the app. That computer is now activated.
- Trial: eligible accounts can activate a 7-day Engine trial on one computer. The seven days start at activation, and the trial requires an internet connection while using the engine.
- Devices: a paid Engine licence activates up to 2 computers. You can release a device slot from the Dashboard once every 30 days.
- Renewal: a paid Engine licence file is valid for 30 days. The app renews it automatically while your Engine plan is active.
- If paid licence code activation fails: open Advanced: manual licence file on the Dashboard, paste the Device ID shown in the app, and generate a licence. Then paste it into the app's licence dialog, or load the downloaded file there.
Where your files are
Your data is in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PulseGTO. Trained runs and blueprints are under preflop_runs, range files under ranges, and the licence is in the same folder. Uninstalling the app keeps this folder.
Technical details
- The data folder is chosen in this order:
- the
PULSEGTO_DATA_DIRenvironment variable; %LOCALAPPDATA%\PulseGTO;%APPDATA%\PulseGTO, only if it already exists from an older install.
- the
- The app runs a local server on port 18080. The interface opens in its own window (WebView2), or in your default browser if that is not available.
- A tray icon offers Open PulseGTO and Quit, plus an update item when a new version is available.
- The installer includes no blueprints. You download them from the website or train them locally.
A practical trial checklist before a long run
- Check Windows 64-bit and AVX2 support against the requirements above.
- Use the account dashboard for the current trial or Engine download. Keep the activation code private.
- Choose a run folder with enough space for the intended game and its checkpoints.
- Load a small existing blueprint or configure a manageable first game. Inspect the tree before starting.
- Try a saved turn or river spot and reload the result, so you know where your files live.
The first computation may build supporting tables, so distinguish that setup work from sustained solve speed. Closing the visible window does not necessarily stop a background preflop run; use its Stop control for a clean saved state. If a licence or CPU requirement fails, fix that requirement before launching a larger job.
